What to Expect at the Blue Hill Harvest Festival
The 2017 Blue Hill Harvest Festival takes place on Saturday, October 17th from 10:30-3:00. It was created to keep the tradition of the fall celebration alive after the cancellation of the popular Taste of the Peninsula. Not only does this event mark the start of the Winter Farmers Market, there are also local food and drink vendors available. Try some local cuisine, then wash it down with some locally crafted beers. It is also rumored that a few local artists and crafters will have booths set up! Get a head start on Christmas shopping, or find a special souvenir to remember your trip to Downeast Maine by.
Entertainment at the Blue Hill Harvest Festival
Where there’s a festival, there’s entertainment! Sit back and relax as you listen to live music by local bands. Another entertaining aspect of the Blue Hill Harvest Festival is the scarecrow contest. Participants must bring their homemade scarecrows to the venue prior to the event. On the day of the festival, judges award prizes for the scariest and the funniest. Festival-goers can vote too to choose who wins the people’s choice category!
