Studio Tours for Visitors of Haystack Mountain School of Crafts

If you’re not looking to participate in a class but would still like to visit Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, they offer seasonal tours! Whether you are looking to visit someone attending or just want to see the award-winning architecture, you can come to the school every Wednesday at 1 PM for a tour during June through August. During these tours, you will get a chance to see the art created by Haystack participants and explore the beautiful campus that overlooks Jericho Bay. You’ll love venturing through the quiet, wooded 40 acres of the campus. It was even added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2006!

Participate in a Class

Many know the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts for its summer series of programs and lectures. From the beginning of June through the beginning of September, the craft school offers a variety of summer programs for artistic exploration. Six different summer sessions offer classes in different media. Classes include ceramic arts, metal, blacksmithing, weaving, woodworking, and more.

Attend a Conference

Every year, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts holds summer conferences, which offer ideas on the creative process from experts in particular fields. Evening programs are quite popular as well and feature the work and knowledge of faculty and visiting artists. There are summer auctions at the end of each session for those wanting to purchase unique local art. If you would like to explore one of these fine crafts, then this school is the place for you!

Purchase Local Art at an Auction

The school hosts a few auctions each year! The End of Session Auctions occurs at the end of each summer. For this affair, the faculty donates some of their works for the public to purchase. This auction is free and open to the public. Additionally, the proceeds go towards Haystack’s scholarship fund and studio improvements. Also, the School hosts a Summer Gala & Private Auction which is their biggest fundraiser of the year. The event allows Haystack to give over 125 students from around the world full scholarships and fellowships to attend workshops. It’s a great opportunity for sponsors, donors, staff, trustees, students, and patrons of the arts to meet and mingle!
